Running the shop
Techs and permission levels
Everybody who works in the shop gets their own account. Shared logins are how you end up
unable to answer “who cleared those codes?”
The four levels
- Customer
- The fleet owner. Reads their own trucks and reports. Not a member of the shop.
- Tech
- Day-to-day work: trucks, sessions, customer records, building reports.
- Admin
- Everything a tech can do, plus issuing and revoking machine tokens.
- Owner
- Everything, plus settings (branding, language, email), managing techs, the audit log,
and the plan & billing page.
Adding a tech
Techs → create the account. Rignos issues a temporary password to hand over;
they set their own on first sign-in. Your plan sets how many tech accounts you get, not
counting the owner.
When somebody leaves
- Delete or lock their account — that ends their web access immediately.
- Separately, revoke the machine token on any laptop they had. An account and a
machine are two different keys; closing one does not close the other.
- Check the audit log if you need to know what they touched.
The laptop is the thing that walks out. Machine tokens are
revocable from the office precisely because the laptop is the part you cannot get back
in a hurry.
